PEEK
AT THE WEEK!: SEPTEMBER 23rd to 28th
Ahoy! Can you believe that we have almost
sailed right through September?
Attention-Special
Events!
•
Our magazine fundraiser is
underway! Please look for the
information your child brought home last week or
visit www.ccrp.ca
and use our school code of AB1633.
•
We are taking part in a
special leadership opportunity this week by helping out the students of Grade
One and Grade Two during the lunch hour.
This is a very cool chance for the students to demonstrate their
maturity while offering a helping hand to the teachers of the younger
grades. Can’t wait to hear their
‘reports’!
•
Did you check out your
child’s school picture? I thought
all the photographs looked stellar!
If you are thinking of ordering photos of your child, please keep in
mind that the due date is OCTOBER3rd!
Language
Arts
Reader’s
Workshop continues, as do the adventures of Hiccup! Congratulations to all the
students on a superb effort on the recent 100 Word test! Very impressive and worthy of a freshly
baked treat! Students who must try
again will be given a shortened list on Monday to focus their studying. The next test will take place on
THURSDAY!
Math
Graphs,
graphs and more graphs! This is a
week of interpreting and constructing graphs! In addition to our fun with graphs we will be barging ahead
with our facts on Wednesday!
Thanks pirate parents for supporting your child’s fact quest at
home!
Science
We
are trying our hand at forecasting this week and then seeing how well we did
using the Weather Network! As well
we will be finishing up our weather glossaries and looking why we have seasons!
For
what is up in Social Studies and French head on over to Ms. Bourassa’s blog:
Hope this provides an idea of
what is up in 5A! Check in with
your pirate to hear what else we have been up to! By the way, their second art project (to be displayed in the
library) looks better than I could have hope for!!
What a creative crew!
